CAPTAIN BABY

11 month Baby stats

March 8, 2017

Eleven-month baby stats:

We have all survived the first 11 months. Below are some stats of how Baby Averie has progressed so far

Dimensions:

Averie is as tall if not taller than an extra-large male Rottweiler. I know this for sure because she has been trying to lick and climb on the family dog for the last month. She is strong, determined and can give you a pinch that you could regret.

Skill Set:

This month stat is extra special because it falls on my favorite number. Number 11. We got married on November 11, 2011 and I have always loved the number. So it is even more special that she waited until her eleventh month of life to develop this much awaited skill.

SHE WALKS!

Baby Averie (or Baeverie as she has been cleverly renamed) took her very first step with the doggedly determined assistance of her cousin Liz (cousin Alex would contest that she really did the bulk of the training but that is a sister argument). We all cried with joy. A few weeks later (on her Granny Kareen’s 70th birthday) she is walking, unassisted and like a pro.

Her walking and general activity has already crumbled one pair of tiny adorable shoes and she is now onto her next. (Thanks Liz & Lisa for buying our baby an unending supply of shoes)

We flew over to Tobago because no mega vacation is complete without a tour of the Bucco reef, even though the ocean was a bit angry and rough Averie was a pro and barfed zero times.

She Walks!

Likes:

milk, milky drinks, milk boobs, milk to be everywhere.

She loves food. All of the food. She ate curry. She eats things that I don’t even know what they are. She is an eating machine.

At 11 months old Averie is social, hilarious and loves to dance. The more beats in the music the better. For the last 6 weeks we have lived with my family in a house full of visitors, vacationers, parties, lunches and love. It has hopefully been the foundation of a lifetime of joy and a thirst for seeking out family, adventure and love.

Averie, loved experiencing her very first Carnival, seeing the blue devils in Parmin. Driving around in her cousin Callum’s sweet mini jeep ride. And adored every second spent in the pool, ocean sand and sun…well she mostly thought the sand was ok except when it went in her mouth.

She loved playing in the trampoline we filled with colorful balls because why not. And she fell asleep on me in the pool once. Which is basically the first line of the most magical story “A baby feel asleep cuddling in a swimming pool and the world was better for it. The End”

Dislikes:

Having to get out of the bath is generally the only part of bath time routine that makes her cry. Still no new teeth besides her bottom two pearly white chicklets, but the occasional bouts of teething pains make her a crabby crab. She also bit me so hard that I nearly cried. So I guess we are even.

Overall Score: 11/11

We leave Trinidad in a few days to return to our home in Toronto. It is going to be an adjustment going back to being just the 3 of us. But our pets and friends eagerly await our return. Hopefully the snow suit we travelled down in still fits for our journey home.

Love this edition of your baby blog, Tracy. The film of her blowing watery raspberries must be kept to embarass her when she is older. Priceless. As is she. xxxxx
