ABOUT HEART SURGERY

I was born with Tetralogy of Fallot and had surgery for a post repair with a transannular patch in 1983, when I was 5. As a result I had pulmonary regurgitation and a severely dilated right ventricle due to the dysfunctional and non-existent pulmonary valve. Basically my heart was getting fat* In January 2015 I had a second open heart surgery to replace the pulmonary valve with the medical ‘bio valve’ standard which are from pigs. The irony in the fact that I have been a vegetarian for over 12 years is not entirely lost.

I wish I could have met my pig. So that I can say thank you and I am sorry.

NOTE* I take a far amount of liberty with medical terms and tend to make my own up as they are far more remarkable.
