CAPTAIN BABY

Ten-month baby stats

February 22, 2017

Ten-month baby stats:

We have all survived the first 10 months. Below are some stats of how Baby Averie has progressed so far

Dimensions:

At this point we have all but stopped measuring Averie. She weighs a shoulder cramping 23+lbs and is equivalent to carrying around an oversized sack of sugar. And is just as sweet.

Skill Set:

The developmental differences in these last few months has been staggering, every day Averie seems to wake up with a whole new component of her personality. And apart from a spicy temper that results in her throwing herself backwards when things don’t go her way our daughter is turning into a funny, social, interested, hilarious little person.

Averie celebrated her Grandma’s 70th birthday in Toronto with lots of cuddles and hangouts. Also visits from her cousin Alex and Tzarna. Many Snapchat filters were used. Averie is –skilled at removing the toilet paper roll and introducing it to every square inch of the bathroom floor.

This winter we escaped the beauty and silence of snowfall for sunshine and warm ocean air. From Feb 6th–14th we spent on holiday in Barbados visiting family and friends. (hence the extra late nature of this post) It was glorious.

Baby Averie officially started her first dance party on a boat. Her raise the roof dance moves got everyone up and moving. No doubt aided by the delicious rum punch being served. Strangers came by to congratulate us for having such a fun loving baby. I told them she was drunk.

Likes:

She loves food. All of the food. She used a spoon to self-feed with varying degrees of success. Even avocado is on the menu now and she is all over it.

Averie is a beach baby with every fiber of her being. She adored her dips and splashes in the ocean and napped in the whistling warm breezes like a professional beach bum. We might have chosen the wrong hemisphere to live in.

Dislikes:

Mosquito bites because they are trash. Being strapped into a car seat (which we rarely do at home) is akin to us strapping her into an electric chair and offering her final meal of steak and fava beans. Teething is still nature’s way to drive a baby bonkers, though apart from her two bottom teeth no new ones have emerged. I am beginning to worry that they might never show.

Overall Score: 10/10

For the next weeks we will live in Trinidad for a new adventure and getting all the extra help we can take. Baby Averie is loving all the attention that her big fan club of family and friends are showering on her.

As just a “Heart Sister “from the Heart valve site I want you to know that I love the
addition to your life that has added so much love(and life experience)to you since your
own surgery. I know it is in the past but I am happy your outcome was to have a healthy
heart to share with those you love and whom love you. Great videos and the “Kid” has
    rhythm! Take care!
