Seven-month baby stats:
We have all survived the first 7 months. Below are some stats of how Baby Averie has progressed so far
Dimensions:
We haven’t measured her so I don’t know exactly how long she is. I do know that she is tall enough to take up a surprising amount of the empty aeroplane seat between us on our flight down to Trinidad a few weeks ago. Because she is a giant.
Averie weighs a little less than half of the baggage allowance WestJet permits on international flights. So, in other words, she is about 23lbs. West Jet charges $25 to check in a 50lb bag but thankfully charges $0 to travel with a baby-shaped carry-on.
Our baby shaped carry-on was a champion traveller and managed to make it through the 11:30pm to 5:30am flight without screaming like a banshee. She instead left that to the poorly infant six rows up who evidently did not care to be in a tube of compressed air bulleting through the night sky. It makes you feel like you have won when your baby isn’t the screaming infant on a flight. She slept for much of the way and woke up with her usual happy disposition despite going to sleep in cosy flannel and waking up in early morning tropical heat, still in flannel.
Skill Set:
She can’t crawl just yet. A fact that both Claudine and I are most pleased with. But is doing some very sturdy hands and knee rocking that suggest we are in for the races very soon.
She also pooped all over the back of her dress while we were at brunch and her Aunty Trudy changed her only to discover that the bag had exactly 4 wipes and no change of clothes. Packing fail. Lucky, we were in the tropics so Averie spent the rest of the meal wearing only a diaper. And Trudy spent the rest of the meal convinced that she was done having children.
The Fan Club of Averie is ever growing and after spending 10 days with us visiting her Trini family down south she might have to start giving out membership cards for her fan base. She is such a loved and adored baby.
Likes:
milk, milky drinks, milk boobs, milk to be everywhere. Also, she loves music, specifically hearing a guitar played. She was mesmerised by her uncle Jon playing his guitar. She loves sweet potato, carrots, spinach, baby cereal, and touring wineries. Kidding. I love wine.
Avocado is still at the top of her list of things that we are clearly trying to destroy her with.
For Halloween, which we celebrated with the family, she dressed as both a tiger and a pumpkin. Because why not, and orange is obviously her colour.
Dislikes:
Election results. Mosquitoes and sand. Actually, those are my dislikes, she was not fazed by them. She mostly hates when 98lb Rottweilers bark excitedly and surprise her. Major sad face.
Overall Score: 10/10
Baby Averie is the winner of my heart in this insane and teetering world.

I want to meet her! Come visit England. I think that’s secretly what baby Averie wants in life 🙂
I LOVE THESE UPDATES.
I love it all. You all seemed to have a great time in T&T. I am glad I finally got to meet Claudine and Averie. Is that Jon Defeintala
