Being discharged from a long stay in a hospital is such a slow process. Just pour that paint and watch it dry! But the staff at TGH are wonderfully thorough and it is best to spend the time to make sure everything gets addressed, checked, answered and signed off on. Also I figured out today that I don’t care for the term ‘discharge’ because it suggests to me that something is oozing or leaking. Not the best in hospital visuals.
After the multitude of forms to complete, prescriptions to fill, directions to be directed and home care rules to follow, we are set free with the overall feeling of excitement mixed with trepidation for the next stage of unmonitored healing.
I am now home safe, cosy, chihuahua cuddled and stationed in the rented mechanical medical recliner that Claudine procured for the next 2 weeks, to make recuperation and coziness a championship pastime.
I owe thunderous waterfalls of high fives, kisses and hugs (when I can hug properly again) to all of my wonderful humans who delivered food, prayers, sand, smiles, kind words, love, beautiful plants, support, company, cards, offered well-wishes, played taxi driver, and were just indomitable superstars over the last week.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
I have a long road ahead and will have to remind myself to go slow; that I can’t simply just go right back to life and normal activity. But knowing that you all exist in your individual splendid magnitude is more than enough to get me through the less sparkly days!
Also the fact that I have friends to make sure I came home to this giant sized helium filled pig balloon sculpture is basically the song that makes my entire soul sing!!!
Love you guys! (Oink)

Home sweet home!
Can just feel your excitement and fear. Totally understand too. I remember coming home from ten days in hospital and just burst into tears when I got indoors. Such a joy. Such a journey. Love you all. Sand?
It is such a journey indeed! So happy and yet so nerve wracking. Haha my friend, Alice had just gotten back from LA and brought me some ‘sunshine’ and sand in a jar to make me feel happy 🙂
