Three-month baby stats:
We have all survived the first 12 weeks. Below are some stats of how Baby Averie has progressed so far.
Dimensions:
24.25″ (ish) long and weighs about the same as a 34 cans of baked beans, assuming they are the delicious 200g size. (In other words she is about 15lbs)
When she smiles her double chin is visible to all the angels near and far. It is hard not to kiss her constantly. Mostly because she smiles and tries to giggle every time you do. It makes for a cycle of heartbreakingly sweet, productivity crushing giddiness.
She is proving to be the syrupiest, most agreeable baby I ever met. But then again my bias is very obvious.
Here is a series of pics, hold onto to your heartstrings, a storm of cuteness is blowing in…
Skill Set:
Averie is turning out to be friendly, smiley and will pretty much let anyone hold her. (When I say ‘anyone’ we do draw the line at zombies, strangers holding weapons menacingly and snakes.)
She is learning how to giggle and I am not sure my heart will hold when she finally does.
We went to our first mom and baby exercise class and Averie was a total gem. Though, towards the end of the 1 hr session I was almost willing her to cry so that I would have an excuse to stop doing abdominal exercises. (All of the evil in the world was most certainly invented because of people having to do crunches.)
In the last few weeks Averie has started drooling with professional commitment. Putting baby saliva all over herself and us seems to be her top goal each day (second to poop and pee) She has started the early stages of teething and the unending stream of drool that this generates is truly remarkable. Like, we might need a boat remarkable.
Likes:
milk, milky drinks, milk boobs, milk to be everywhere.
She has started to notice our dog, Cashie and seems most enamored with him. Though sadly she was indifferent to how hilarious it was when I put one of her tiny pink bibs on him. I suppose I will have to teach her why things like ‘small dogs tiny pink bibs wearing bibs’ are so funny.
Now that her gums are doing clever things like preparing to house teeth, she likes to gnaw on shoulders/hands/arms while you hold her. It is creepy to feel like someone with no teeth is trying to eat you.
Dislikes:
Racism, homophobia, injustice, bigotry, the societal splintering of our deeply flawed systems that foster hatred and violence. Also being dressed in fluffy pink dresses. (Ok, perhaps not all of those are her dislikes. But this world has been getting scarier by the day.)
Overall Score: 10/10
Our daughter is becoming more and more of a person everyday, as her personality builds and develops. It is hard to imagine how much more I am going to love her. But I know I will. It changes and grows every day in every cell of my being.

Oh I totally agree. 10 out of 10 in the cuteness zone and definitely 10 out of 10 in the pure love zone. Which makes for a very happy and secure baby. Your will constantly be bursting Tracy. I promise
