I had some connectivity issues and needed tech support in setting this blog server up. This facilitated several phone calls between me and – I can only envision – several lovely people, likely stationed somewhere in Asia and all reasonably new to English.
“ Hi, I am having some issues with my site”
“Hello, are you having issues with ‘ahhh lofffff u widalll mai sssschicken dot com?’ ”
“Yes, that is the URL”
“Ok, let me see if I can help you with your problems on ‘ahhh lofffff u widalll mai sssschicken dot com?’ ” What seems to be the issue with ‘ahhh lofffff u widalll mai sssschicken dot com?’
The number of times that the technician has to repeat the name of your URL during a tech support call made this stupendously satisfying. After getting it sorted out over the course of 3 separate calls, I felt saddened that I would have no reason to call back and hear someone say ‘ahhh lofffff u widalll mai sssschicken dot com’ in magnificently broken English.
