Statistically only 4% of babies are born on their actual due date. Statistically I wish it didn’t snow in Canada when the tulips and buds were already starting to gleefully frolic.
But here we are, no baby yet and snow covered flower buds.
Claudine has had the beginnings of early labour for several days now. It progresses then tapers off, which I suppose is the human body providing some merciful lessons in preparation.
But all this preparing to prepare can be tiring, and we keep misplacing the lids to our jars of excitement.
So to help labour to progress we have started to apply all tales and trials short of finding a trampoline for her to bounce on.
We have tried spicy food, long walks, acupuncture pressure points and under doctors suggestion she had a Guinness (which incidentally is the exact type of Rx I can get behind)
Today we had jalapeño laden plate of nachos and spicy Caesars* (one virgin and one most certainly not) to see if that delicious spicy zap would get things going.
*A Caesar is the far more delicious Canadian version of a Bloody Mary*
So far by the looks of things our baby isn’t going to make her debut on this statistically significant birthday date.
Though it is not midnight yet so I suppose there is still time…

It is time to take her on a fast drive along Patner Street in St james!!!!
That baby knows it is too cold in this place so prefers to stay warm and cost where it is.

Maybe she is just waiting for your Birthday Tracy. All those I know born on that day, are truly incredible people, extremely talented in various ways.
