This resolutely heavy wooden dresser just did a little dance while the walls moved and groaned with the shaking of the earth.
Did you feel that? I panic texted my sister
“Small ting” she replied
I immediately put on pants and went outside. I figured it was best to not be caught in my underwear while the earth is trying to dislodge us.
Trudy assured me that it was a very small earthquake and the one they had recently was far more aggressive, audibly vibrating up the valley, grumbling steadily at the foundations of the houses. Shaking everything like the wet hairs on a dog.
I told her I was going to stay outside for the rest of the day. Incase it happened again. She recommended that I find a ‘triangle of life’ as this was a safe spot to hide in the event of a larger quake. I have clearly lived away from this fault-line located island for far too long. If anyone needs me I will be standing in an open, object free area, holding a pillow for the rest of the trip.
Earthquakes, even small ones, are terrifying beyond measure.
Especially when you have no pants on.

More inconvenient is lying in your hospital gurney shortly after having had Open Heart Surgery in the wee hours of the morning as a 6.5er hits the floor and shakes you back and forth like a rag doll and for just a few seconds it feels like your heart stops.(You know like when some idiot pops out at you from a door way and yells BOO!
Hope you are still healing well young Lady. I am healing in Manteca, California where the biggest excitement is a mountain of almond husk mulch is on fire and the cities all around are not apt to
meet air quality standards for another few days!
