Five-month baby stats

Five-month baby stats:

We have all survived the first 20 weeks. Below are some stats of how Baby Averie has progressed so far.

Dimensions:
I actually have no idea what size she is because we haven’t been to the doctor recently to weigh and measure her. So I will guesstimate that she is 5,000 meters long and weighs about the same as 5 bottles of wine. I know how much 5 bottles of wine weigh because that is the sort of person I am and because I carried a box of them to the car on a recent wine tour we went on. (In other words our baby is about 17lbs and probably as delicious as a rich Cab Franc)

If you told me a year ago that we would take our very brand new baby on multiple trips out of the city, including cliff side hikes, boat excursions, wine tours and regular summertime general frivolity, all before the age of half a year, I would have doubted it. But so far Averie has seen all of these and more. We are ever grateful to have such a fun and easy going baby. She is basically the best creature to ever roam the earth. Aside from the T-Rex and naturally extra sweet watermelons, obviously.

Skill Set:
She is getting better at routines and consistent sleeping seems to be falling into a nice groove. That is of course until some new ‘stage’ arises and all that changes for shyte. Babies change pretty much constantly, so it is hard to keep up.

Likes:
milk, milky drinks, milk boobs, milk to be everywhere.

This baby likes most everything. She is the personification of a sitcom audience. Happy, easily surprised and thrilled about the mundane. Most things garner a smile and laugh from her and she is learning to use her voice in the most perfectly obnoxious and hilarious way. She squeals for conversation and I can’t wait to teach her words that don’t exist. Here is a video of her laughing at our dog Cash, like she didn’t see him nine zillion times already today.

Dislikes:
Teething gel. It apparently tastes like murder. At least that is the face she gives.

Extra-long rides in her car seat. Once she wakes up and realizes that she is still in it all hell breaks out and she cries like the sound a goat makes.

Overall Score: 10/10
Sometimes I look at her and I know that she saved me from myself, in so many ways. And taught me to love in a way that I didn’t know I was capable of. She is just too much goodness.
