HEART SURGERY

Keep on valving on little pig valve

September 13, 2016

I had my post-surgery follow up with my cardiologist today. It sort of snuck up on me, and to be honest, I didn’t really want to go. I feel so far removed from that whole experience of having to be a patient that I felt like I could just skip the whole thing. So many things have happened this year and having to think about my fully mended heart seems so secondary, but health should be a priority and Claudine made me go.

Plus, this time Baby Averie won smiles and made the waiting rooms far more entertaining with her squeals and admittedly loud farts. (That baby really does fart loudly)

Overall the checkup was a resounding success as Dr. O and the team confirmed that my heart enlargement has reduced even more since my last visit. Before the surgery the volume was 190cc and now it is down to 108cc. My heart is becoming more normal sized and that is a very good thing.

They scheduled to see me again in another 2 years, so as much as I like seeing the team, I am very happy to NOT have to go in every 6 months.

High friggin fives all around.
