HEART SURGERY

Opiate filled hugs

January 17, 2015

Well that worked out peaches and by peaches i mean thank goodness it is all over and each day is another on the path of recovery. I don’t much care for seeing so many of the hours over the span of the night without at least having a drink in my hand. Last night was a bit rubbish and the discomfort (understatement of the year) right now is a bit intense. Which i am told has a lot to do with the drainage tubes that i still have in below my incision. I think one of them might actually be a garden hose. In any event they are not my favorite things right now.

The care and staff here has been impeccable and even though last night – first night out of ICU and on the ward – was a pained and unrestful one I am keeping focus on the fact that everything is temporary and this too shall pass.

I saw some of your well wishes and love through blurry, delirium filled eyes on Friday and it made my heart oink. Whatever drugs they were giving me then were all kinds of juicy and I would like another bucket of them to chug right now.

Opiate filled hugs and love back to each one of you.

Onwards and upwards

X

Happy to hear the surgery went well and that you’ve finally pulled off that extremely complicated ruse to get some free drugs.

Hope to see you soon. Hugs to Claudine!!

Rest up my dear. Enjoy the pain medication for a few more days. Tubes (or garden hoses) should be coming out soon. Yes, it is all temporary. Revelation 21:3, 4 is a good reminder that we will soon have better conditions in the near future.
