The mini triathlon race is tomorrow on Saturday 22nd I did my first open water test swim in the lake last weekend. Despite being a baking 32C degree August summer day, the lake felt more like a wet mass of a glacial January chill. The water was very cold.
My family is in town visiting from Trinidad. My sister is joining me to do the race. Because she is a fool. We did a test bike run yesterday by towing my heavy arse nephews behind us on bike trailers. The kids loved it and our thighs complained bitterly.
We picked up our wetsuits this morning. Hilarity ensued.
Life got a bit ahead of me these past few months and I didn’t train quite as diligently as I should have. But despite that I am jazzed about the adventure and hope that I don’t perish and float limply away off the shores of lake Ontario.
Godspeed fellow racers. Lets do this!

I hope you and your Sister have a big adventure on while on your triathlon tomorrow and that
you don’t limply float away in the wrong direction but that a large school of dolphins lets you
catch a ride with them until you finish that portion of the swimming event and then you walk
on sea turtles backs(ever so gently) whereby you make it to the sandy shore and to the next portion
of your event. I hope it it is a day like no other day and that the two of you together know in your
mended heart, her in her special heart just how much you love one another and celebrate that
closeness. Your are ispiring.
